Detection of Theileria Species among Imported And Local Breed Feedlot Bulls in Duhok Governorate–kurdistan Region /iraq

Background: Bovine theileriosis is a tick-born disease in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The study was aimed to detect Theileria sp. at genus level blood samples both local imported feedlot bulls by direct Giemsa staining, ELISA, nested polymerase chain reaction. Methods: A total 250 (125 125 bulls) were collected randomly. from five different districts Duhok Governorate Kurdistan region, Iraq 1st July 31st October 2021. stain ELISA techniques performed for all cases, while nPCR done seropositive cases recognized ELISA. Results: infection with parasite 8.8% (n=22) staining 11.2% (n=28) current showed that 75% (n=21) 28 positive technique. highest among breeds compared breeds. rate Shekhan Summel breeds. Conclusions: This have higher but overall difference not statistically (P=value 0.0772)
